We are presently accepting resumes for permanent Casual Relief Support Workers to work in our Accommodation programs (group homes).  Casual Relief staff are responsible for picking up open shifts as there is no set schedule.

These positions provide supportive services to meet the direct care needs of individuals in the Accommodation's program in Barrie utilizing the Personal Outcomes philosophy.

We are one of the largest accredited community living organizations in Ontario providing services through a variety of programs which include; Accommodation Services and Community Support Services in the Barrie and Orillia areas. As an organization we look for individuals who demonstrate initiative, collaboration, resilience, creative problem solving and an ability to advocate and foster independence in others.



  • graduates of a College Diploma in any of the following courses of study - Developmental Services Worker; Social Services Worker, E.C.E, C & Y Worker programs and/or graduates with a University Degree in any of the following programs - Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, will be considered for employment;
  • minimum of 6 months recent full time work experience in a community residential setting providing support for intellectually challenged individuals is required;
  • proven ability to work as part of a team and/or independently;
  • excellent communication skills, including listening and interpersonal skills;
  • good computer skills in Microsoft Office and database experience is required;
  • A current clear criminal record check with a vulnerable sector screening check, pre-employment medical, valid class G driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Overview of Duties (not a complete list):

  • participate in meal planning and preparation; grocery shopping, house cleaning; laundry and to support individuals to participate in these activities when appropriate;
  • provide personal care for individuals in keeping with their abilities;
  • provide opportunities for individuals to participate in community activities and make connections within their community according to their interests;  

Must commit to working shifts as outlined below:

  • a minimum of 40 hours per month which includes the following shift requirements;
  • a minimum of two (2) weekend shifts
  • a minimum of two (2) overnight shifts
  • a specified number of statutory holidays, including the Christmas period
